Our puppies are intended for families who desire an excellent pet, therapy, and/or service dog.
This puppy is being sold with limited - AKC Registration which means this puppy will not be used for breeding purposes. Please remember to register your puppy with American Kennel Club either by mail or online. (With the signing of this contract, buyer agrees that they have reviewed and excepted all terms of adoption contract from DeLorenzo Dachshunds of California).
The seller _____ guarantees this puppy is of sound health and temperament at the time of sale.
This puppy has also been raised in a loving environment and properly cared for since birth.
DeLorenzo Dachshunds agrees to provide health records, the full physical report from
puppy’s vet check with the shot and deworming record and
AKC registration forms, along with the contents of the puppy pack.
The buyer ______ agrees to take said puppy to a licensed veterinarian of his/her choice
within 3 working days following possession for a physical examination.
Buyer is responsible for any vet bills.
Should the puppy be determined ill of health, buyer may return the puppy for a full refund.
The buyer must provide a veterinarian’s statement regarding the
puppy’s health if returning due to sickness.
Please do not agree to any medical procedures and/or medication unless first contacting
DeLorenzo Dachshunds and receiving our consent.
Failure to do so will cancel our responsibility for any payment towards vet bills incurred.
Our return policy does not include worms, fleas, mites, ticks, coccidia, giardia, mange
or any other parasites as they are common in dogs and puppies.
However, if contracted within 3 days following possession
we will take the puppy back and give a full refund if desired.
This Refund policy does not include ingestion of foreign objects, ingestion of food,
chemicals, or physical injury contracted or incurred following buyer’s receipt of puppy.
Seller’s intent is that the buyer will be 100% satisfied with his/her adoption.
Health Guarantee
DeLorenzo Dachshunds guarantees puppy against any congenital defect
causing death or requiring necessary euthanasia until one year of age.
A 12 month health guarantee is offered on this puppy regarding genetic defects.
DeLorenzo Dachshunds guarantees that for a period of one year from the date of birth of puppy,
the puppy will not have or develop hereditary eye problems, hip dysplasia, or intervertebral disk disease. The condition must be diagnosed by two licensed veterinarians. If the puppy is found to have any
of the genetic faults listed in this Health guarantee clause by 12 months of age,
breeder will refund any medical expenses
incurred but not to exceed 50% of the purchase price of the puppy.
(This Guarantee does not cover reducible umbilical hernias,
or Spinal Disk Injury due to activities of any sort.)
This guarantee is for hereditary problems only.
DeLorenzo Dachshunds has no control regarding future temperament,
habits, and appearance of said dog, and hence does not warrant such.
DeLorenzo Dachshunds does not assume liability for complications or death during
elective and contractual procedures such as but not limited to spay/neuter.
DeLorenzo Dachshunds is not responsible if puppy contracts a
communicable disease after leaving Breeder’s possession.
DeLorenzo Dachshunds has no control regarding future temperament, habits,
and appearance of said dog, and hence does not warrant such.
Buyer agrees to maintain this dog in good health. Buyer will make sure the dog has adequate training, exercise, nutritious food, & necessary health care including yearly vaccinations.
Young children & pets will be supervised at all times by adoptive family adults with said dog’s interactions.
It is highly recommended to keep your puppy, and later adult, away from secondhand smoke.
The Buyer agrees that he/she & family shall treat the puppy in a humane and loving way at all times,
and make sure that anyone temporarily caring for the puppy shall do the same.
If said dog/puppy is returned to DeLorenzo Dachshunds for behavioral issues, there will be
no refund given as we do not assume the responsibility of socialization
and training once puppy leaves our premises.
Please Note: Any complaints against DeLorenzo Dachshunds shall be written
in a "Letter of Complaint" directly to DeLorenzo Dachshunds
and not shared publicly before we have had a chance to discuss further action.
If the complaint is valid, we will do everything in our power to correct the problem.
If invalid, all communication to DeLorenzo Dachshunds, the public or to other pet owners will cease.
Welcome Home Policy
At DeLorenzo Dachshunds, we understand that circumstances in your life may change.
If at any time, during the life of the dog, the buyer is unable to keep the dog, please first contact
DeLorenzo Dachshunds. We would like to be given the option of resuming
full ownership in order to locate the dog to a new safe and loving forever home.
In the event of the buyer's passing please make sure said puppy/dog is noted in final wishes or will.
If puppy/dog is returned, no refund will be given. Said dog/puppy will be returned with all
AKC papers for ownership transfer along with current medical records.
Failure to comply with the conditions of this contract shall constitute a “breach of contract”.
This contract is nontransferable and should the buyer relinquish
ownership of the puppy for any reason, this contract is null and void.
