Reminders Checklist:
To my families that have reserved their new family member with DeLorenzo Dachshunds, here is the reminders checklist to help you prepare for the big day. I’m sure you are excited and looking forward to the happy times ahead.
So, here is the “to-do” list for your review as you wait. I would recommend getting things ordered soon so that you don’t worry about delivery delays.
** VERY IMPORTANT **
Do not change their diet for at least six months, but I would keep them on this kibble and supplement for life.
I can not stress how important this is. Please use my codes below if possible.
PawTree sends us fun toys like the one in your adoption bag for the next adoptive families.

- Puppy training needs to continue right away. They need to understand that you are in charge and have everything handled. This will allow for your puppy to trust and relax. Crate training for sleeping and while not being supervised is advised until fully acclimated to their new home and environment. (This goes for adult dogs as well, as they adjust to thier new home.)
I would highly recommend boundaries right away, and the chance to learn new things.
- Your vet check needs to be scheduled within 3 days of pick up day. (I will have the 7 week vet report in the adoption binder to bring along with you to your appointment.)
Please get a stool sample the day of your appointment. Make sure to follow up and get results. It is very normal for a puppy to have Giardia or coccidia even though we administer two 3 day rounds of Panacur.
- Remember that they may get motion sick on the ride home. Bring an extra towel or blanket and maybe a plastic bag, wipes and water bottle.
Now relax and enjoy the next few weeks/days of waiting.

- Set up puppy area.
- Set Up Vet Check with your Vet.
- Please text two days before pick-up to confirm your scheduled day/time of adoption.

- If you would like a photo on adoption day please confirm that as well.
- (I will possibly be adding your beautiful pictures to our website and Instagram unless you opt out).
- Balance is payable to Zelle or Cashiers Check made payable to Becky DeLorenzo (no personal checks or cash please).
- (I will send your balance privately.)
